CHESTER — Micah White tallied twice during the Green Mountain girls soccer team's 5-1 victory over Leland & Gray on Wednesday.

The Chieftains took a 3-0 halftime lead, thanks to Paige Karl's icebreaker and a couple of goals from White. Sierra Kohoe and Maddie Wilson added insurance goals over the last 40 minutes.

The Rebels fell to 5-6 overall.

Brattleboro 2, Springfield 0

BRATTLEBORO — Rachael Rooney and Kai Boyd each split the posts once for the Colonels.

"With nice passing and combination play the ball moved towards the front a lot. But between 10 saves by the Springfield goalie, hitting the post twice, three goals called back because of offsides, and shots just wide, Brattleboro was able to score only one goal in each half.," said BUHS coach Edwin de Bruijn.

Megyn Ayotte made three quality saves for Brattleboro, which will host Rutland on Saturday at 11 a.m.
