BRATTLEBORO — Bonjour mes amis francophones and all who love classic films!

The Hooker-Dunham Theater's French Film Fridays pops up again on 7 p.m., Friday, June 30 with Clouzot's classic drama, Diabolique.

Diabolique, Henri-Georges Clouzot's classic (1955) film that shocked audiences in Europe and the U.S. is the story of two women — the fragile wife and the willful mistress of the sadistic headmaster of a boys' boarding school—who hatch a daring revenge plot. With its unprecedented narrative twists and startling images, Diabolique is a heart-grabbing benchmark in filmmaking, featuring outstanding performances by Simone Signoret, V ra Clouzot, and Paul Meurisse. Clouzot's film entrances us with profound psychological study of two women intertwined in a complex — and deadly — situation.

In French with English subtitles. All seats $5. at the door.
