Guilford felon charged with sexual assault
Jason Boyd, 44, of Guilford, was charged Oct. 12 by a judge in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division, with aggravated sexual assault and second-degree domestic assault.
Boyd was previously convicted of sexual assault in 1991, domestic assault in 1994 and failure to comply with the sex offenders registry in 1998 and 1999.
The alleged victim went to police on Oct. 4. The victim and Boyd had been together for the past 10 years. They'd lived in Guilford for a year with their child.
About a month ago, the victim said, Boyd sexually assaulted her. The two were in bed when he pushed her in the back and demanded sex. She told him she didn't want to. She said she didn't want "'it' or any sexual contact between the two of them," according to court documents.
"Boyd has driven her to the point where she wants to leave and stay gone from Boyd," stated the affidavit. He then sexually assaulted her, the victim reported. During the act, Boyd said, "I'm taking what's mine," according to the victim's statement to police.
She also said he made the statement, "You can leave me but you will always be mine. I will always find you."
When asked on a scale of one to 10 how much the assault physically hurt her, the victim said 10.
Boyd was arraigned on Friday, Oct. 6, at Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division.
Windham County State's Attorney Tracy Shriver asked that he be held without bail because aggravated sexual assault has a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Windham County Judge Michael Kainen, however, released Boyd on $5,000 bail.
