Letter: Coal, maybe?

Editor of the Reformer:

The May 17 Reformer has an editorial on the recent legislative ethics bill asking "Is a toothless ethics bill better than nothing?" Good question. Imagine that you are a young child. Under the Christmas tree, there is a beautifully wrapped package with your name on it. When you open it, it is empty. How do you feel? Has all government become more about packaging then substance? What are we really getting for our tax dollars?
