Letter: Cyclists must obey rules of the road

Editor of the Reformer:

A delayed response to a letter written in November from David King, in regard to Brattleboro not a friendly town for bicyclists and the dangerous motorists.

Well Mr. King, many of your fellow cyclists can fit into the dangerous operators club. Driving is a nightmare too with cyclists blowing through stop signs, not even looking, ignoring traffic lights, coming past on both side of cars stopped at a red light, riding three abreast on the side of the road, not pulling over for emergency vehicles, and most important, no reflective wear or lights.

If cyclists want a lane of their own, they must obey the rules of the road and be held accountable if they do not.

Sally Brunton
