Letter: I am voting for Aldrich
I am writing to support Jeanny Aldrich for the open position on the Chesterfield, N.H., Board of Selectmen. Jeanny and her husband own and operate the 1780 Farm here. They have brought many students from the Chesterfield School to show them how an operating farm works. She has served on the Cheshire County Agricultural Commission, was a member of Vision 20/20 , and the Monadnock Farm and Community Coalition, as well as being a certified Le Cordon Bleu chef. She is now the Food Services Manager at Keene State College, where she manages 140 employees.
Her opponent for the seat, Scott Riddlemoser, has a very slick website that reveals him to be one more of those men from out of state who move here and think they know what is best for us. He has specific ideas about our town and our volunteer committees and how they should act without demonstrating any understanding of who we are or how these long existing committees work. He refused to participate in our Meet the Candidates Night, instead scheduling his own event for his own supporters at exactly the same time.
This is a pivotal moment for Chesterfield. If you have never voted in a local election before, please make this the one you vote in. Jeanny Aldrich has the management and budget skills to be an excellent selectman. More than that, she understands the importance of listening to people first, then creating solutions to issues and problems that do not alienate others. She will include all of us in her role as Selectman — but in order for her to do this, we all need to help by voting on Tuesday, March 13, in the Chesterfield Town Hall.
