Letters: Your thanks
On behalf of the Brattleboro Boys' Varsity hockey team and the Brattleboro Hockey Educational Trust, we would like to thank the Brattleboro community for your contributions to our program. Our team is responsible for raising $9,500 each season to help defray the cost of the hockey program. Local businesses and individuals like yourselves have made our fundraising efforts a success.
From one time donations to yearly contributions, this community has been vital in the sustainability of our program and allows our youth to continue to play the game they love.
The experience of a hockey team is one that promotes dedication, hard work, teamwork, communication, and pursuit of goals. These qualities and characteristics that these young men are learning will serve them well as they will eventually be the next generation of workers and citizens.
The families of these players and the coaching staff know the financial struggles of many in our area. It is the support of this town and this community that helps us to remain a successful program to mold responsible young people. It is important that we keep our student-athletes active and competitive in a great environment.
Thanks to the following establishments for their support:
Brattleboro Elks, Foard Panel, JD McCliments Pub, Al's Towing, D.M.I Paving, Whetstone Station Restaurant and Brewery, Professional Dental Care, Wilson Orthodontics, Southern Vermont Sprinklers Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, Brattleboro Pharmacy, Perkins Air Care and Propane Services, Green Mountain Tent Rentals, Fletcher Auto Inc., Lawton Flooring Design and The Richards Group and The Marina.
A special thanks to the Brattleboro Elks, B.P.O.E. #1499 for their continued support throughout the years and donating the space to hold the spaghetti dinner. A big thanks to John Martell and Zippo Frechette for their culinary skills each year and Nicole Zolnoski who coordinates the raffle and helps create the program for each home game. We would also like to thank Jared and Michele Powers, Dan and Carol Bailey, Brattleboro Professional Dental Care, WW Building Supply, The Marina, Mount Snow, Whetstone Station Restaurant and Brewery, Duo Restaurant and Hazel's for donating the raffle.
We hope that you will continue to be a part of the Brattleboro Hockey family in years to come and thank you for all that you have done for us in years past. Parents and players alike contribute time and money to complement these funds through their own donations and other team functions. Hockey is a special game that teaches special lessons and we thank you for being a part of our great program.

Editor of the Reformer:
We would like to thank everyone who came to our Thai Dinner Fundraiser on February 11th at the Townshend Town Hall. There were about 100 people who came and supported our event. A big thank you to the crew of Vermont Muay Thai, especially to Dan Martin, who shared their talent with everyone by demonstrating Thai martial arts. Thank you to Sun, a Leland and Gray Thai exchange student, who translated some basic Thai words into English.
Thank you, everyone! As we prepare for our trip to Thailand, we are still collecting school supplies for the kids in the Sparrow Home. Sparrow Home is a residential home in Bangkok for children whose parents are incarcerated. We are collecting pencils with erasers, colored pencils, crayons, coloring books, notebooks, rulers, markers, and also money to help pay for the children's school uniforms. Donations are welcome, and if you'd like to contribute the school supplies can be dropped off at Leland and Gray. You can also email Rence at fricohermoso@lelandandgray for pick up or if you have any questions.
