Live music: Blackjack Crossing
BRATTLEBORO — Blackjack Crossing was born out of a bluegrass jam in 2009. Since then, they've performed their unique blend of originals, traditionals and covers at festivals, theaters, bars and everything between. From foot-stompers and barn-burners to quiet ballads, the band mines the catalog of American Roots music, paying respect to tradition, but not being stuck in the past.
The band is Coretta Corbin Bliss, guitar, Ben Yelle, mandolin and guitar, Ben Ridgway, doghouse bass, Carey Bluhm, fiddle, and Eric Zablowsky, banjo. Everyone sings.
Hailing from the Monadnock region, Winterland plays songs from the catalog of the Grateful Dead. The band strives to keep the music consistent, immediately recognizable, and deeply improvisational while simultaneously adding a touch of their own style to the Dead's timeless collection of classic of songs.
