Modern dance auditions for training program
IBIT focuses on explorations of modern and contemporary dance that celebrate its individual members. IBIT Dance Company offers pre-professional training for students at the intermediate and advanced levels of dance for high school, college and adult students. Students in the training program study with world renowned faculty and are held to a high expectation of artistry and professionalism. They are exposed to many enrichment opportunities and experience touring. They perform at festivals throughout New England including the Southern Vermont Dance Festival.
Those interested in being in the company itself can also inquire by email.
For those familiar with IBIT the structure of the program has changed significantly. The program will be hosted one day a week and will require students to be training in other studio settings as the director believes students gain the most from multiple dance experiences. Students accepted will be placed either into the technique based program (where they will also be introduced to all other aspects mentioned above) or the full program which includes many performance opportunities. All students accepted into the technique program will eventually move up to the performance based program if they so wish, students who only want to do the technique based program can indicate that when they come to audition. Advanced students may also be accepted as apprentices in the company itself and will be offered performance opportunity with the company members on a more frequent basis.
Choreographer Brenda Lynn Siegel brings to the company a deep passion for making social and political statements through artistic expression as well as a strong understanding of body alignment, breath and artistic quality. Siegel's work exemplifies a deep knowledge and understanding of issues that effect our society today. The work brings a balance of beautiful movement through modern dance and exploration through the use of multi-media projects.
The Modern Dance training will be based on release technique and will include some training in as many different techniques as is possible with faculty at the top of their field from around New England. To sign up for the audition please email us at email@example.com . The program is designed for mostly 13 through college age and post graduate, but has worked with younger students in the past, depending on technique and maturity. Additionally IBIT is working on partnerships with local organizations to offer students in the training program strong growth experiences and training in the field. Register in advance for Tuesday's audition!
