Musical potpourri will entertain all at the Red Door
"We are so glad to have so many talented local musicians willing to join us at this event," said Deborah Canedy, St. Mary's Music Director. "All of our performers are volunteering their unique talents to entertain our audience with an eclectic selection of musical styles that will engage everyone, while at the same time helping our neighbors."
The program will include everything from a Brahms duet performed by clarinetist Kathleen Loomis-Ward with pianist Richard Mattern, to folk favorites and oldies — such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "Under the Boardwalk" — where the audience can sing along with Sue Nalewajk. Performances will also include jazz and other vocal standards in a variety of formats (including Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," "Over the Rainbow," and "Summertime"), show tunes (such as "The Music of the Night" and "I Could Have Danced All Night"), and more. Other musicians will include Bob Zeman, Barbara Lipstadt, Eithne Eldred, Deborah Canedy, and Holly & Joe Fortner. The historic and acoustically warm setting of St. Mary's will only add to the evening.
"The participants, volunteers, and families of Mount Snow Adaptive Sports are incredibly proud and grateful to be the recipient of this generous fund raising effort," said Linda Walsh, Mount Snow Adaptive Sports Executive Director. "These funds, the first raised on our behalf of our newly formed independent non-profit organization," will benefit outreach programs and local school programs that serve people with all manner of disabilities. Our adaptive programs at Mount Snow provide opportunities for local school students with disabilities to participate in weekly ski and ride programs alongside their peers, gaining the sense of accomplishment and freedom that comes with skiing and snowboarding at Mount Snow," said Walsh. "The support of Saint Mary's in the Mountains is an enormous honor as we seek to serve our local community more each year."
