Emery allowed just one run on two hits to pick up the win. Nolan Chisholm pitched well in relief and picked up seven strikeouts in 2 2/3 hitless innings.
Jackson Emery hit a long triple for the winners in the third inning and went around to score on the play. Willem Thurber had a base hit and two runs scored. Will Fontaine hit a double and Lucas Stolpp got a base hit as well.

Ryder Leary had the other Royals hit — a single in the second inning. On the mound, VenHendrick threw well and allowed just three runs across three innings of work.
