Reed, Wood lead BUHS track teams

WINDSOR — The Brattleboro boys and girls track teams swept the Windsor Vacational, while the Bellows Falls teams each finished second.

Jasper Reed won the 100 in 11.28 seconds, the 200 in 23.32 seconds, and the long jump (20-04.50) to lead the Colonel boys. Brattleboro's Bram Tabachnick won the 3000 in 11:11.40 and Orion Stone won the pole vault (10-00).

Shane Clark prevailed in the triple jump (38-09.50), 110 hurdles (17.22), and javelin (158-04) to pace the BF boys. Reno Tuttle added victories in the shot put (46-01) and discus (123-04).

Dani Wood struck gold in the 100 (13.28) and 200 (28.00) to power the BUHS girls. Also winning an event for the Colonels were: Sarah Gallagher in the 3000 (11:29.93), Dory Abdallah in the 300 hurdles (53.94), and Kai Boyd in the javelin (107-00).

Putney's Delaney Bullock won the 800 in 2:34.96 and was second in the 1500 in 5:11.55.

The relays were swept by the area schools. Brattleboro's Honnee McManus, Angelika Toomey, Gallagher and Abdallah took the 4X400 in 4:54.07. Bellows Falls got wins from the foursome of Jasmine Boucher, Brigid Hodsden, Abbe Cravinho and Tess Kinney in the 4X100 in 55.97 as well as Liz Clark, Sophia Hyslop, Macie Streeter and Baylee Davis in the 4X800 in 12.13.46.

Boys team scores: 1. Brattleboro 158 points, 2. Bellows Falls 104, 3. Newport 87, 4. Hartford 44, 5. Windsor 41, 6. Thetford 34, 7. South Royalton 30, 8. Proctor 20, 9. Sharon Academy 14, 10. Whitcomb 6, 11. Rivendell 2.

Girls team scores: 1. Brattleboro 145, 2. Bellows Falls 136, 3. Hartford 108, 4. Thetford 56, 5. Windsor 31, 6. Newport 29, 7. Whitcomb 18, 8. Sharon Academy 2, 8. South Royalton 2.

Hinsdale Track

LACONIA, N.H. — The Hinsdale boys and girls track teams each placed sixth in a meet against Laconia, White Mountain, Berlin, Bishop Brady, Moultonborough and Hillsboro-Deering.

The Hinsdale boys scored 39 points. Ryan Boggio won the triple jump by leaping 38 feet and added a silver in the high jump to lead the Pacers, while Isiaha Palafox was the runner-up in the 400 and Zeke Spaulding took third in the 110 hurdles.

Maggie St. John won the 3200 and wound up fourth in the 1600 to lead the Hinsdale girls, who finished with 28 points. Elizabeth Ryan placed second in the javelin and Juliana Yialiades ended up fourth in the 3200.
