Social Justice: Rally Tuesday night in support of Migrant Justice detainees

BRATTLEBORO — Human Rights Leaders in Vermont are being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement — a direct attack against the their activism and against the immigrant community in Vermont.

Three of Justicia Migrante/Migrant Justice's leaders were arrested within three days of each other last week in Chittenden County. Join The Root Social Justice Center, Lost River Racial Justice, Brattleboro Solidarity, the Vermont Workers' Center, Green Mountain Crossroads and other community organizations in a solidarity demonstration on Tuesday, March 21, 5 p.m. at Pliny Park.

Deportation agents with ICE arrested Alex Carrillo outside the Chittenden County courthouse the morning of Wednesday, March 15. Two days later, Migrant Justice spokesman Jose Enrique Balcazar Sanchez and another community leader, Zully Palacios, were directly targeted and detained by ICE agents in Burlington.
