Turkeys cause accident in Jamaica

Posted
JAMAICA — Motorists, beware: there are some real turkeys on Vermont Route 30.

Vermont State Police say Jason Whitcomb, 47, of Hinsdale, N.H., damaged his tractor trailer and a length of guardrail on Friday in Jamaica when he swerved to avoid two wild turkeys that had entered the road.

As a result of the evasive maneuver, Whitcomb went off the road, striking and damaging about 180 feet of guardrail, state police said. His truck sustained moderate damage to the front grill, front bumper and passenger side.

Police said Whitcomb, who was uninjured in the mishap, was cited with a violation as his New Hampshire license was under

suspension.
